Wednesday is now,the busiest day of the week for me. Aadi has ballet after school and I signed up for a Pilates class, that started tonight. After dropping,Aadi at school,we came back tidied up and then,a friend came over with her son.
I have to tell you about this friend-its funny how we met..One day,I was driving, taking the girls to the library or the town center, and as I turned around the corner,I saw a couple standing there. The woman looked up and our eyes met..We smiled and waved to each other.
And immediately,Aadya, the chatterbox, asked me if I knew the lady..I said no..’Then why did you wave ?’,she asked..I said,’I don’t know I had to’..that was the end of discussion.
Anyway,a few weeks later,a friend invited us over for a cup of tea and there were some other mums there as well and I got talking to one of them. She had a son,the same age as Ananya and it turned out,he was born a day before Anaan! That was awesome..we decided to catch up again..and found out that we lived quite near each other and THEN,figured out that we had waved to each other,a few days back!
This was about one year back..now she is one of my closest friends..and her little boy is Anaan’s special friend-she loves him to bits, but more than him,she loves his mummy.Today, she was taking a nap, when they came over. When she woke up,she stumbled over to L,instead of me.. yup…that’s how much she loves her:)
We often joke, that we know each other from some past life..specially Anaan n her-there is no other way to explain their relationship. She warmed up to L,almost instantly from the moment they laid eyes on each other 🙂
So,coming back to today,after L and J,her
baby boy toddler left,we loaded the slow cooker with some chick-pea curry and left for school pick up..came home, changed, went to ballet, went for grocery shopping.Note to self: Avoid taking Aadi to grocery stores. There are too many temptations for her.
We had just walked inside and I was still bringing the groceries inside, when Ananya started throwing up and the sweet child decided to clean it,with her bare hands..yeah..not very nice…I cleaned her, cleaned the carpet and the phone rang-it was my bestie, asking to Skype. And we did..
Half an hour later,SD walked in and we stopped chatting. Then it was time for the kids’ baths and dinner. I served them dinner and had to leave for my class. It was my first time, doing Pilates in a group, where I didn’t know anyone..I was a beginner.I was a little nervous. But,I had fun, despite the pain. L.o.v.e.d the whole 60 minutes of it.I am pretty sure,I won’t say the same thing tomorrow, when I can’t move. LOL!
And with that..I will take your leave.. The abs are beginning to feel a little sore.. I am off to bed..more later..
Its time for the next guest post. This one’s written by the Passionate Goof, known to most of us as the Goofy Mumma.
I was in India, when Aneela told me that another blogger is moving to Melbourne.Naturally I was thrilled and curious.GM got in touch and we exchanged emails and somehow there was no awkward pauses when we spoke.I remember being put at ease, instantly by her sweet tinkling voice..and I knew that the friendship, that I hoped for, when I first heard of her move, was going to bloom..:)We spoke a couple times, while in India and meeting up was the next step…Now,I will let GM tell you the rest…
Here’s presenting,the Goofy Mumma-
“Learning to live in a new place, can be a breeze if you have the right friends around you, said the great GM. 😉 After having moved toSharjah , where I knew absolutely no one, it took me ages to get a hang of the place, its workings, my likings and more. But Melbourne has been a different story from day one. From the moment I announced the move on my blog, the sweetest of people living here, dropped in mails, offering help and advice, and I am just putting it lightly, when I say I questioned them endlessly with all my queries.
Surprisingly enough, Trishna happened to be in Bombay at the same time, while I was there during my transition. She offered me so much information and help, that this tiny brain of mine could neither hold, nor process all of it, I think. She guided me on how to go about the BB’s vaccinations, evaluations, kinder and more. And then we talked some more, about blogs, bloggers we both read, our lives, and the people in it. Somehow the bond formed right then. Having spoken to her just a few times before, did not stop me from calling her up, and go ranting when I really needed to vent, and, she just so sweetly and patiently heard me out. I think I knew then, I had already found a friend in my new home-to-be.
Once I got here, the BB’s birthday was approaching, and as if taking it for granted, I invited Trish and family over, they came, and that is how we first met. And may I say, at the risk of being flung footwear at, I was smitten byAadi , and fell in love with her, more than Trish. She is such a sweet little girl, full of smiles, witty, sweet talk, and just such a loving little girl. I absolutely love that one. Trish, I noticed second, and liked just as much. Though this meeting was not really one, where we were sitting and chatting away to glory, having a heart to heart, but this was where we met. The next time was when we met up in the City, walked around, ate, chatted, and surprisingly for people just getting to know each other, found too many common things connecting us. From our spiritual ideas to our health concerns, there was just so much we had in common, besidesofcourse the very obvious, kids of almost the same age. And it is amazing how calm, and chilled out she remains even when under pressure, is the image I came back with from that meeting.
But, honestly I had the most fun over dinner at Trishna’s beautiful home, and not just because of the drool worthy food ofcourse. It was such an easy-to-be-in home. They are just such a friendly and informal bunch of people, its just so easy to be with them. The BB and Aadi hit it off like a house on fire, playing, laughing, screaming. Aadi, the lovely baby, started treating the BB like her pretend baby, and actually fed him with her own hands, and then wiped his face with her tissues. My boy completely enjoyed the attention ofcourse. Trish and I had loads to talk about, and did, while the husbands seemed to have hit it off well with each other too. It is such fun to find like-minded people who are just so so easy to be with. I just loved that evening spent at their home, and if there is one moment of the evening, that is forever etched in my mind, it was when we were leaving, and Aadi said, “BB, my friend. He should not go”, and she burst into tears. The sweet, loving little girl, so precious. God bless you my darling.
Its so wonderful knowing that I have a friend just a phone call away, who is always there, and who would not need too much explanation to understand me, nor do I fear being judged. And who is plain and simple honest. All this compounds, especially when in a new place, where I know very few people. Trish, thanks for being my sweet sweet friend.”
Thanks for writing this post,GM..It means a lot to me..here’s to a new friendship..which doesn’t seem so new anymore.5 months back,I didn’t know you or your blog..now,you are my feel-good call and the blog,is my morning coffee break!
oh and to read the first guest post by Aneela,go Here
Phew..Friday is here, finally.I thought this week would never end.
Friends of ours,a couple, were going to come over tonight. The girl is just in her second trimester and had a rough time, last couple of months.I felt so bad everytime I spoke to her..poor thing all alone..I wanted to go over and take care of her. But,it wasn’t as easy at I thought-the prospect of keeping Aadi busy/entertained while taking care of a sick friend, scared me.I visited whenever I could with DH.They were going to spend the weekend with us-she said, she wanted to be pampered and I am more than happy to do that:) But,they just cancelled the plans..The guy has to work late..and so may be they will come over tomorrow.
Aadi is still tired from our outing, she was in the stroller most of the time, but it was the heat that tired her,I think. It was a hot day, yesterday and we were out on the streets at the hottest time. But,all said and done, when in the city,I love walking and taking public transport..nothing beats the high that gives you.
We walked along,South Bank,Crown casino(the one in Salam Namaste, where Saif and Priety, finally go to eat icecream!),ate in one of the arcades..sat next to each other in the tram, looking out at the same things. This is what I miss when we are driving into the city..There are so many things to see and so much too and I think,we miss out on that,by driving in.
The liveliness, the cheer, the energy, can only be felt when you are in the middle of it.I came back tired and with a splitting headache, but I came back, full of cheer 😀
If I can write two more posts after this one, then,I will have completed 1 whole month of NaBloPoMo..
I broke my head over what to write but, writing everyday is nice.I liked it.For next month,I would like to have guest posts, from some of you..If you would like to contribute a post, please leave me a comment and I will get in touch with you or email me if you already have my email id.Sorry I am not putting my email id here, because the two times that I did that..my email got hacked.
Speaking of hacking, someone hacked into my gmail and blogger account on Janaury 16th..I managed to retrieve the account, but the same @#@$# has tried to hack into it again..WHY?I dunno…What interest does someone have in the life of a SAHM mom?I dunno..and if someone really came up to me asked me,what’s going on in my life,I would tell them..why go through, all this drama.
Anyway..:) write to me..and please pretty please,I hope atleast some of you will write a guest post for me.It neednot be anything earth shattering…it can be something mundane stuff like..pictures of your garden or garage..or laundry basket or something exciting that happenned to you..or just some random rant..something anything..please!!
